Building Our Own Nashville

Stone Mountain Sinners began in 2017 after the demise of The Misers and The Sarah Warren Band.

Initially formed around the powerhouse vocals of Neil Ivison, Sarah Warren and the songwriting of Nick Lyndon, their love of Americana, Country and Heartland Rock quickly came to the fore and a prolific writing partnership soon developed between Nick & Neil.

Once the songs took shape, the trio were bolstered by Roger Roberts on Keys & Vocals, Adam Hood on Bass and former RedBeards sticks man Duke Delight on Drums, the band booked themselves into the legendary Rockfield Studios in Monmouth with producer Paul Cobbold (The Waterboys, Pogues, Hawkwind) in January 2018 to record their debut album. Recorded live in the studio, the record captured the vibe of a years hard gigging and a band champing at the bit.

'Tones of Home' was released worldwide on October 1st 2018 and went straight in at No.5 in the iTunes UK Country Music chart.

Radio play inevitably followed with the band being championed by BBC Introducing, plays on 6Music, live sessions with BBC Hereford & Worcester & BBC Wiltshire as well as spins from Iain Anderson on BBC Scotland. Their video for ‘Round Here’ received repeat airings on Keep It Country TV. More live gigs followed, the band receiving rave reviews at London’s Americana mecca The Borderline, Birmingham’s O2 Academy and UK festival dates with Status Quo.

Despite this early success, Sarah, Roger and Adam decided to call time on their tenure with the band in January 2019.

Never ones to stand still, Neil, Nick and Duke put the word out and the search was on for a new female vocalist.

Enter Wiltshire based Singer/Songwriter and 2016 Best British Newcomer BCMA Nominee Emily Oldham…

Nick: “Emily walked in, pulled up a stool and just floored us with just her vocal and an acoustic guitar. We were all looking at each other, open mouthed, while trying to hide our smiles and look professional. I knew instantly that we had found someone very special. Plus she has an extensive knowledge of single malt Scotch Whiskeys so we pretty much gave her the gig on the spot!”

With the addition of Morg Morgan (Ian Parker Band) on Keys, the band head back out on the road to play some select UK Festivals through the summer whilst they continue to work feverishly on the follow up to ‘Tones Of Home’ due later in the year.
